Police believe the stabbing on John Street near Broadway last Thursday stemmed from a dispute between two rival gangs.

The deadly incident left Yeremi Colino, 17, dead and an 18-year-old injured. Colino was fatally stabbed in the chest.
According to police, the three men apparently flashed gang signs to the victim and the other teen before the stabbing.

The victims are believed to be members of a Venezuelan migrant gang based out of New York City-run hotels around 42nd Street, according to multiple media reports. The suspects are thought to be migrant gang members from the Caribbean community.
No arrests have been made as of Wednesday morning. An investigation remains ongoing.
