NYC Subway Delays: Power Outage Causes 'Extensive' Problems, Service Changes Tuesday

A power outage at DeKalb Avenue caused "extensive" delays Tuesday, the MTA said.

NEW YORK, NY — A power outage at DeKalb Avenue left several major subway lines with "extensive" delays and service changes during the Tuesday morning commute.

While that outage has since been restored, mechanical issues at other stations have other trains running with delays and altered subway service. And, of course, "extensive" delays remain from the earlier outage.

Passengers were reporting "dangerous" subway platforms and "packed" trains shortly before 9 a.m.:

Here's the word on subway service, via the MTA, as of about 10:45 a.m.:

Following an earlier incident at DeKalb Avenue, B, D, F, N, Q, R and W train service has resumed with extensive delays.

Customers are advised to use 2, 3, 4 and 5 as an alternate between Manhattan and Brooklyn to avoid congestion and crowding conditions.

Due to signal problems at 86 Street, northbound 1 trains are running with delays.
