NYC Subway Delays: Smoke, Mechanical Problems Snarl Lines Across City During Morning Commute

The subway was not playing nice late in the Wednesday morning commute.

NEW YORK, NY — A slew of subway lines faced delays and service changes late in the Wednesday morning commute because of a several incidents across the city.

A stalled train at Dekalb Avenue in Brooklyn was doing to most damage to the subway system's normal activities, delaying trains and changing service on the B, D, E, F, M, N, Q and R lines.

A "smoke condition" was reported at Grand Central Station and affected some trains there. And a sick customer at Jay Street-Metro Tech earlier disrupted service there.

  • Southbound N and Q trains are running on the R line from 34 St-Herald Sq to DeKalb Av.
  • Expect delays on B, D, E, F, M, N, Q and R train service.
