Tribute In Light Returns To NYC, Honors 9/11 Victims: Where To See It

The September 11th attacks claimed the lives of 2,977 people.​

NEW YORK CITY — The annual Tribute in Light will illuminate the New York City sky on Thursday from dusk to dawn in remembrance of the September 11 terrorist attacks.

According to the 9/11 Memorial and Museum, two blue beams from 88 7,000-watt lightbulbs will light the sky to represent the Twin Towers.

The beams will be viewable from as far as 60 miles away from Lower Manhattan, according to the museum.

The annual installation has taken place since March 2002.
