NYC Weather: Thunderstorms In Forecast All Week

After a severe thunderstorm warning Monday, New Yorkers can expect more horrible weather this week, forecasters said.

NEW YORK CITY — Hope you like stormy weather, New Yorkers.

The threat of thunderstorms is in the city's forecast all week, according to the National Weather Service.

New York City first was under a hazardous weather outlook, then a severe thunderstorm warning Monday. Both warned of hail, heavy rain and strong winds.

"Some of the storms could become strong to severe with a risk for localized flash flooding, mainly this afternoon and evening," a weather alert Monday states.

Monday
Showers likely and possibly a thunderstorm before noon, then showers and thunderstorms likely after noon. Some of the storms could produce gusty winds and heavy rain. Mostly cloudy, with a high near 77. Southeast wind 7 to 13 mph. Chance of precipitation is 60%. New rainfall amounts between a quarter and half of an inch possible.

Monday Night
Showers and thunderstorms before midnight, then showers likely and possibly a thunderstorm between midnight and 3am, then a chance of showers and thunderstorms after 3am. Some of the storms could produce gusty winds and heavy rain. Low around 70. Southeast wind 8 to 13 mph. Chance of precipitation is 80%. New rainfall amounts between a half and three quarters of an inch possible.

A chance of showers and thunderstorms, then showers likely and possibly a thunderstorm after 3pm. Mostly cloudy, with a high near 76. South wind 9 to 13 mph. Chance of precipitation is 60%. New rainfall amounts of less than a tenth of an inch, except higher amounts possible in thunderstorms.
