NYC Weather Forecast: Heat Wave Moves In, Causes Air Quality Fears
Here's an hour-by-hour look at the rising temperatures Wednesday.

NEW YORK, NY — Anyone tired of the unseasonably cool weather we've had for much of May so far is in for a lot of relief, in the form of a heat wave that will bring temperatures 10 to 20 degrees above the average temperature for this time of year.
Temperatures in the mid to high 80s — and getting close to hitting 90 on the mercury — will be rolling in starting Wednesday, in the first big round of hot weather for New York City this year.
As the temperatures climb, the National Weather Service has also issued an "Air Quality Alert" in the five boroughs, telling people who are especially sensitive to air pollutants, such as infants and people with respiratory problems, to stay indoors.

The services also recommends "that individuals consider limiting strenuous outdoor physical activity to reduce the risk of adverse health effects." The alert is in effect from 10 a.m. until 10 p.m. Wednesday.
