NYC Weather Forecast: Hour-by-Hour Climb to 104-Degree Heat Index

A heat advisory remains in effect as the temperature climbs to dangerous levels.

NEW YORK, NY – It's another scorcher in New York City Wednesday. A heat advisory is in effect until 9 p.m.

The high temperature at Central Park is expected to hit 95 degrees, close to the daily record of 99 which was set in 1953. Throw in the humidity and it will feel as high as 104 degrees during the afternoon, according to the National Weather Service.

If overcome by heat, move to a cool and shaded location. Heat stroke is an emergency. Dial 911 if it is suspected.

If you are heading to the beach to cool off, beware that there is a moderate risk of rip currents Wednesday.

On Thursday, it will cool off slightly with highs in the upper 80s, but a chance of showers and thunderstorms returns to the forecast. See the hour-by-hour forecast below, courtesy of the NWS.
