NYC Weather Forecast: 'Severe' Storms Could Hit City

Don't let the dry start to Wednesday fool you.

NEW YORK, NY – Don't let the morning's break in the rain fool you – "severe" storms are forecast to hit New York City Wednesday.

After soaking rainfall that stretched through most of Tuesday, Wednesday's commute was dry, but National Weather Service forecasters warn it won't last. A hazardous weather outlook was issued for the city Wednesday morning.

"A cold front will approach and move through the area today and tonight. Showers and thunderstorms will develop out ahead of the front," the meteorologists said.
