NYC Weather: Go Outside, It's 70 Degrees

NEW YORK CITY — Go outside. Now.

The temperature across New York City is nearing 70 degrees, if it hasn't already hit it Wednesday afternoon, according to the National Weather Service.

"Sunny, with a high near 70," the forecast states.

The pleasant weather comes amid a week of spring-like conditions that have brought New Yorkers outdoors en masse.

But the fun in the sun won't last.

Showers are likely starting early Friday, with the chance of rain through the day standing at 60 percent, according to the National Weather Service's forecast.

The good news for sunshine fans is the cloudy, potentially rainy skies will clear up by the weekend, although the temperature will stay just below 60 degrees, the forecast states.

"Mostly sunny, with a high near 59," Saturday's forecast states.
