NYC Weather: Hail, Heavy Winds Possible As Storms Loom
More than a quarter-inch of rain is expected to hit the city by early Friday morning.

NEW YORK — Thunderstorms could slam the New York City area on Thursday and bring hail and heavy winds with them, the National Weather Service warns.
Showers will loom over the city throughout the day, with the best chance of rain and thunder coming from about 6 to 10 p.m., the weather service's forecast shows. More than a quarter-inch of rain is expected to hit Central Park by early Friday morning.
The city won't be alone in the wet weather. Storms could batter a several parts of the tri-state region, with some of them possibly creating "damaging winds and hail," the weather service says.
