NYC Weather: Heatwave Continues, Thunderstorms In Forecast

"This is a day to be safe," Mayor Bill de Blasio warned Monday as temps reach 100 and the city goes under heat advisory.

NEW YORK CITY — Temperatures in New York City likely will crack triple digits on Monday.

The city is under a heat advisory until 8 p.m. as heat indices are expected to reach up to 103 degrees. The heat wave is so severe that Mayor Bill de Blasio took time out of daily briefing to warn New Yorkers.

Take it seriously, don't underestimate the heat and keep an eye on your family and neighbors, he said.
