NYC Weather: Nasty Storms Could Spoil Sunny Week
Thunderstorms could bring damaging winds to the New York City area on Thursday.
NEW YORK — Enjoy the sunshine while it lasts. Rain and nasty thunderstorms could spoil an otherwise fair late-spring week in New York City on Thursday, the National Weather Service warns.
Showers could start as early as Thursday morning, with a chance of thunderstorms looming from about 5 p.m. to the 10 p.m. hour, the forecast shows.
The weather service has issued a hazardous weather outlook for the tri-state area warning of storms that could possibly create "damaging winds."

The rough weather will come with a seasonable high near 72 degrees on Thursday following a sunny and similarly warm Wednesday, the weather service says.
New Yorkers can expect the sun to return at the start of Memorial Day weekend before another chance of thunderstorms looms Saturday night, according to the forecast.

A chance of showers and thunderstorms before 11pm, then a slight chance of showers between 11pm and 2am. Mostly cloudy, then gradually becoming mostly clear, with a low around 62. Southwest wind 8 to 11 mph. Chance of precipitation is 40%.
