NYC Weather: Rain, Rain, Won't Go Away This Week

Hold on tight to the memory of Sunday's blue skies.

NEW YORK CITY — Rain, rain and more rain.

New Yorkers can expect that wet weather for most of this week, according to the National Weather Service's forecast.

Indeed, the forecast likely will give city dwellers déjà vu to this past weekend, when which kicked off with an absolute soaker Saturday before giving way to a brilliant blue sky Sunday.

But, unfortunately, the forecast this week calls for three days of rain before the skies clear. The damp dreariness will begin early Tuesday morning, and continue into a day with a 90 percent chance of rain, the forecast states.

"New precipitation amounts between a half and three quarters of an inch possible," the forecast states.

A wet Wednesday will follow, with the evening bringing up to 2 inches of rain, according to the forecast.

Rain will continue into Thursday, which carries an 80 percent chance of precipitation, the forecast states.

Sodden New Yorkers' patience will be rewarded Friday, as a sunny day is expected, according to the forecast.

But rain won't be fair behind — both days this coming weekend carry a 60 percent chance of precipitation, the forecast states.
