NEW YORK CITY — Snow finally returned to New York City — and it looks like it'll be sticking around.

The city's 700-day snow drought ended overnight into Tuesday as 1.4 inches were recorded in Central Park, weather records show.

The wintry blast Tuesday won't just be a combination of snow, sleet and freezing rain.

Highs will only reach 31 degrees, with wind chills between 20 and 25 degrees, according to the forecast.

The city is under a winter weather advisory until Tuesday at 7 p.m., along with a hazardous weather outlook.

The bone-chilling weather will continue through the week and into Friday, when another winter storm threatens to bring more snow into the city, according to AccuWeather.

"Behind that late-week storm, Arctic air may more forcefully push into the Eastern states this weekend, compared to this past weekend," said Matt Benz, a senior meteorologist for AccuWeather, in a report by the service.
