NYC Weather: Storms, Hail And Poor Air Quality In Forecast
A hazardous weather outlook and an air quality alert have been issued.

NEW YORK CITY – Sweltering temperatures, concerns about air quality and a heavy thunderstorm that could produce hail stones are all in the forecast Monday.
The National Weather Service issued a hazardous weather outlook and an air quality alert as temperatures reach nearly 90 degrees.
More than a quarter of an inch of rain is expected to fall on New York City as the storms approach from 4 p.m. Monday. With it could be strong winds and small hail stones.

The NWS warns the chance of thunderstorms will continue throughout the week.
The air quality alert is in place until 11 p.m. Monday because of high ozone levels. People are being urged to avoid strenuous activity, with those suffering preexisting respiratory problems told to be particularly careful.

Showers and thunderstorms likely, mainly between 4pm and 5pm. Some of the storms could produce small hail, gusty winds, and heavy rain. Mostly sunny, with a high near 89. East wind around 7 mph. Chance of precipitation is 60%. New rainfall amounts between a tenth and quarter of an inch, except higher amounts possible in thunderstorms.
Monday Night
A chance of showers and thunderstorms. Some of the storms could produce small hail, gusty winds, and heavy rain. Mostly cloudy, with a low around 70. Southeast wind 6 to 9 mph. Chance of precipitation is 50%.
Tuesday
A slight chance of showers, then a chance of showers and thunderstorms after 11am. Mostly cloudy, with a high near 84. East wind 7 to 10 mph. Chance of precipitation is 50%.
Tuesday Night
A 50 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms before 1am. Mostly cloudy, with a low around 73. South wind 7 to 10 mph.
Wednesday
A 40 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms after 1pm. Mostly cloudy, with a high near 86. South wind 7 to 9 mph.
