NYC Weekend Subway Service Changes Feb. 15-16

NEW YORK, NY — Here's how the Metropolitan Transportation Authority will screw up your plans this weekend — from late Friday night, Feb. 14, through early Monday morning, Feb. 17 — in the name of "upgrading and maintaining our tracks, stations and signal systems in order to continue to provide our customers with safe and reliable service."

5 train:

STATION REHABILITATION through early 2020

• 5 Manhattan-bound platform at Gun Hill Rd in the Bronx is temporarily closed
• 5 Manhattan-bound trains skip Gun Hill Rd.Travel Alternatives:For service to this station, take the 5 to Pelham Pkwy and transfer to an Eastchester-bound 5.For service from this station, take the 5 to Baychester Av and transfer to a Manhattan-bound 5.

ELEVATOR REPLACEMENT through Summer 2020

• A 181 St Station information:
• The ENTRANCE/EXIT elevators to the A train on Fort Washington Av between W 183 St and W 185 St are temporarily closed as we install three replacement elevators.
• The Overlook Terrace passageway will remain open, but free access to/from Fort Washington Av will not be available during this time.
• Travel Alternatives: Use the subway entrance at W 181 St and Fort Washington Av or consider using the 190 St A station.~ M4 bus service is available days and evenings along Fort Washington Av to/from these alternative locations.

• 2. Between Lorimer St, Brooklyn and 8 Av, Manhattan, every 20 minutes.

• 1. Between Broadway Junction and Myrtle-Wyckoff Avs.

FLOOD PROTECTION through Spring 2020

• N Trains are not running between 86 St and Coney Island-Stillwell Av in Brooklyn
• N trains run between Ditmars Blvd, Queens and 86 St, Brooklyn, the last stop. (Service change map) For direct service between Manhattan/Downtown Brooklyn and the Coney Island-Stillwell Av Station, take the D F or Q.
• In Manhattan, transfer between the N and D F Q trains at 34 St-Herald Sq
• In Brooklyn, transfer between the N and D trains at 36 St (across the platform) or New Utrecht Av/62 St
• We're providing a free out-of-system transfer between the 86 St N station and the F at Avenue X. It's about a 5 minute walk. Or, you can take the B1 or B4 bus which is also a free transfer, when using a MetroCard.ad N trains will terminate at 86 St, which is not an accessible station.
