NYC Weekend Subway Service Changes March 7 - 8

NEW YORK, NY — Here's how the Metropolitan Transportation Authority will screw up your plans this weekend — from late Friday night, March 6, through early Monday morning, March 9— in the name of "upgrading and maintaining our tracks, stations and signal systems in order to continue to provide our customers with safe and reliable service."

2 train:

TRACK REPLACEMENT Mar 7 - 8 • Mar 14 - 15 • Mar 21 - 22, Sat 3:45 AM to Sun 10 PM

• 2 Wakefield-bound trains run express from 3 Av-149 St to E 180 St in the Bronx

For service to Jackson Av, Prospect Av, Intervale Av, Simpson St, Freeman St, 174 St and E Tremont Av, take the 2 to E 180 St and transfer to a Flatbush Av-bound 2.

For service from these stations, take the 2 to 149 St-Grand Concourse and transfer to a Wakefield-bound 2.

The Overlook Terrace passageway will remain open, but free access to/from Fort Washington Av will not be available during this time.

In Manhattan, use the M14A/D SBS buses serving all L stops along 14 St; the M14A SBS connects with the F J M at Delancey St-Essex St.The B62, B24 and Q54 buses provide a free transfer, when using MetroCard, and connect customers in Williamsburg to/from the subway at Marcy Av J M, Lorimer St G L and Bedford Av L.•

Free MetroCard transfers are available between the Broadway G, Hewes St and Lorimer St J M stations and between the Livonia Av L and Junius St 3 stations.At Broadway Junction, consider the J train for service to/from Manhattan.

For direct service between Manhattan/Downtown Brooklyn and the Coney Island-Stillwell Av Station, take the D F or Q.• In Manhattan, transfer between the N and D F Q trains at 34 St-Herald Sq ad.• In Brooklyn, transfer between the N and D trains at 36 St (across the platform) or New Utrecht Av/62 St ad.

We're providing a free out-of-system transfer between the 86 St N station and the F at Avenue X. It's about a 5 minute walk. Or, you can take the B1 or B4 bus which is also a free transfer, when using a MetroCard. N trains will terminate at 86 St, which is not an accessible station. For accessible service to Stillwell Av, transfer at New Utrecht Av-62 St to the D.
