NYC Weekend Subway Service Changes for Sept. 24-25

NEW YORK, NY — The biggest change of the weekend is no 3 trains will be running, with shuttle buses taking their place. And, as usual due to Sandy recovery work, the A and C trains will be a mess. Oh, and the F train, too. And N train. Basically, what we're saying is, it's going to be a beautiful weekend, how about you walk everywhere?

Here are this weekend's major scheduled subway changes. (You can get additional details on the MTA's Weekender website.)

2 train:

• No trains between 96 St and 241 St
• Trains run local in both directions between Times Sq-42 St and 96 St

3 train:

• No trains running

4 train:

• 4 trains replace the 3 between Atlantic Av-Barclays Ctr and New Lots Av

5 train:

• No trains between E 180 St and Dyre Av

A train:

• Trains run via the F in both directions between W 4 St and Jay St-MetroTech
• No trains between 168 St and 207 St
• Trains make local stops in both directions at 155 St and 163 St
• Trains make local stops in both directions at 23 St and 50 St

C train:

• Trains run via the F in both directions between W 4 St and Jay St-MetroTech
• No trains between 145 St and 168 St; A trains provide alternate service

E train:

• Trains run local in both directions between Queens Plaza and 71 Av

D train:

• Norwood-bound trains make local stops at 25 St, Prospect Av, 4 Av-9 St, Union St and DeKalb Av

F train:

• Church Av-bound trains skip 23 St and 14 St
• Jamaica-bound trains are rerouted via the after 47-50 Sts to Roosevelt Av
• No trains between Church Av and Stillwell Av
• Trains run local in both directions in Queens

M train:

• Essex St-bound trains skip Flushing Av, Lorimer St and Hewes St; Trains run every 20 minutes

N train:

• Astoria-bound trains run local from 59 St, Brooklyn to DeKalb Av
• Coney Island-bound trains skip 30 Av, Broadway, 36 Av and 39 Av
• Manhattan-bound platforms at 86 St, Avenue U, Kings Hwy, 20 Av, 18 Av, New Utrecht Av and Fort Hamilton Pkwy are closed for renovation
• The last stop for some Astoria-bound trains is Times Sq-42 St

R train:

• No shuttle train between 36 St and 59 St; Brooklyn trains provide alternate service

J train:

• Broad St-bound trains skip Flushing Av, Lorimer St and Hewes St
