Knife-Wielding Man Shot By Cops Inside NYC Apartment

A 34-year-old man was transported to a local hospital in critical condition.

NEW YORK CITY — An NYPD officer shot and injured a man after he lunged at officers with a knife Thursday night.

The incident happened inside an apartment on Mulford Avenue in the Bronx around 11:20 p.m., police said.

Officers responded to the scene after a report of a man with a knife.

At the scene, two officers ordered a 34-year-old man to drop the weapon, which was unsuccessful. The suspect then charged at them, leading to an officer shooting the man.

The 34-year-old man was transported to Jacobi Medical Center in critical condition.
