NYPD: Suspect Grabbed 11-Year-Old Girl's Hair, Tried To Choke Her At Stuyvesant Square Park

Police are searching for a suspect accused in a disturbing attack on an 11-year-old girl at a Manhattan park.

It happened Wednesday afternoon at Stuyvesant Square Park on East 16th Street. Investigators said the girl was at the park with her classmates around noon when a stranger started yelling at the group and sprayed water at them.

Officers said he then attacked the girl by grabbing her hair and punching her. The child tried to fight back, but police said the man wrapped his hands around her neck and applied pressure.
