Park Avenue Closed on Three Saturdays in August for Summer Streets
Everything you need to know about the upcoming ninth annual Summer Streets, where 6.9 miles of Park Avenue is closed off to cars.

Park Avenue is about to get really fun for pedestrians and a headache and a half for drivers.
On three Saturdays this August — the 6th, 13th and 20th — the city will close 6.9 miles of Park Avenue to car traffic for pedestrians, bikers, food, fairs and fun. Park Avenue will be closed from 7 a.m. to 1 p.m. on those Saturdays from the Brooklyn Bridge to Central Park.
The city recommends for businesses working near or along the route to reschedule deliveries and pick-ups on Friday at or after 2 p.m. on the Summer Street days. And plan ahead for parking: There'll be no parking allowed along the route beginning at 11 p.m. the night before each event through 2 p.m during the day of the event. Parking garages on side streets will be open, though.
