Person Struck By Train In Manhattan, Halts Multiple Subway Lines

The MTA is advising riders in Manhattan to use 1/2/3/N/Q/R/W trains instead.

BROOKLYN, NY — A person was struck by a train at a Lower Manhattan subway station Tuesday afternoon, causing severe delays on multiple lines, the MTA said.

The incident happened at the Bowling Green subway station around 3:50 p.m., according to officials and a post on X.

The condition of the person struck is unknown at this time.

Following the incident, there was no 4 line train service between Brooklyn Bridge and Utica Ave. in both directions.

No. 4, 5 and 6 trains are now running with delays in both directions, the MTA said.

In addition, No. 4 and 5 trains have resumed making regularly scheduled stops.

The MTA is advising riders in Manhattan to use 1/2/3/N/Q/R/W trains.

For those traveling between Manhattan and Brooklyn, take the B/D/N/Q/R.

If you're in the Bronx, use the B and D trains.

By around 9 p.m. Tuesday, all lines appeared to be operating on a normal schedule.
