It's not clear what the reason was behind the meeting.
Adams is currently running for reelection as an independent. Last month, he disclosed he would forego the Democratic primary for mayor and appeal directly to all New Yorkers as an Independent candidate in the general election, Patch previously reported.

The mayor had been lagging behind Ex-Gov Andrew Cuomo and Rep. Zohran Mamdani in recent Democratic voter polls.
After Cuomo announced this week he would be running as a Democratic and Independent in the election, Adams said the former governor is just going through the motions in his campaign and duplicating everything he says.
“I thought the word was ‘I’m going to be like Mike, not I’m going to be like Eric,’” Adams said, alluding to former Mayor Michael Bloomberg.
