NEW YORK CITY — Rush hour delays hit several MTA subway lines as straphangers were poised to head home Wednesday afternoon.

Trains headed downtown along the 4 and 5 lines were delayed after crews moved a train that had its brakes activated at 138th Street-Grand Concourse station, the MTA posted.

And track maintenance caused delays or service changes for four different lines across the city.

F trains headed north saw delays because of track work near 18th Avenue, according to the MTA's alert page

N, R and W trains ran with delays, in part because of track maintenance near Lexington Avenue-59th Street, the MTA posted. Disruptive passengers also caused delays for N and W trains headed south, the post stated.

And R trains headed south ran express from Forest Hills-71st Avenue to Jackson Heights-Roosevelt Avenue because of a train that had its brakes activated, an MTA post stated.
