SEE: This Rat Is The Subway's Next 'Showtime' Sensation
An acrobatic rodent was caught on video pole-dancing aboard a subway train.

NEW YORK — This rat has gone from the gutter to showtime glory. A viral video captured an acrobatic rodent practicing a pole-dancing routine in a noticeably empty subway car.
The rat has some work to do before it can impress any straphangers who could stomach its performance. In the video, it tries to shimmy up a pole near a corner seat before sliding down while holding on for dear life, like a toddler who's lost his grip on some playground equipment.
The video has attracted more than 402,000 views on Instagram, where the famous SubwayCreatures account posted it Wednesday morning. It's unclear what train the ambitious critter was on — but it clearly tickled some straphanger, as cackling can be heard in the background.

Some online commenters reacted with horror. Twitter user Rachelle D'nae said the video is "is my 'why I’m leaving NYC' story." Another tweeter, Johnny B., asked what line the scene unfolded on "so I can avoid it if possible."
But others praised the rodent's work ethic.

"Chill, my man is just trying to practice his Showtime routine!" Nicolas Heller of the popular Instagram account @newyorknico commented on the SubwayCreatures video.
"Aww c’mon, that rat is just trying to earn some Benjamins up on that pole," Mindy Robinson tweeted. "It’s probably a single mom with 8 mouths to feed, trying to make her way."
