SEE: Subway Cat Tries To Make Friends On 1 Train

The outgoing black kitty caught some straphangers off guard as it ambled across the floor.

NEW YORK — Rats, birds and even raccoons have been known to rove the subways unattended, keeping commuters on their toes. But cats, when they appear, are usually accompanied by a watchful human.

Maybe that's why a tiny black kitty caught some straphangers off guard as it ambled across the floor of a 1 train on Monday.

A rider named Nicholas posted a video of the gregarious feline to Twitter that afternoon. It shows the cat winding behind the legs of a few riders as it traipses from one end of the car to the other.

One man didn't seem to mind the cat plopping down near his lap, as another photo shows. But another woman wasn't so thrilled — she's seen jerking her legs up away from the curious creature before it reaches its front paws up onto a seat next to her.

"Only in New York City you see a random cat bullying passengers," Nicholas wrote in a tweet with the video, which had been viewed more than 40,000 times as of Wednesday afternoon.

Nicholas, who tweets under the handle @NewYorkNeek and has a YouTube channel with a similar name, added that the pushy animal meandered off the train at 125th Street.

"He just walked right off like it was his stop," he told Gothamist.
