Storms Ahead As Laura Remnants Near NYC This Weekend
Tropical Depression Laura will contribute some moisture to Saturday's showers, a National Weather Service meteorologist said.

NEW YORK CITY — A stormy Saturday in New York City will give way to a clear and cool Sunday as a front system and the remnants of Tropical Depression Laura make their way through the region.
National Weather Service meteorologist Dave Radell told Patch the area could see showers and thunderstorms throughout the day on Sunday into the afternoon and evening.
Although some storms could be severe, they are not expected to reach the level of threat the city saw on Thursday afternoon, he said.

Radell said the storm is mainly fueled by a front system moving through the area, but some moisture brought into the area by Tropical Depression Laura could contribute to showers in the area.
For the most part, he said, Laura will pass to the south of the city before moving back out to sea.
