Suspect Arrested After Slashing Man In Face Outside NYC Station, Police Say

NEW YORK CITY — A suspect has been arrested after he allegedly slashed a man in the face outside a Lower Manhattan subway station on Monday, police said on Tuesday.

Demitri Marshall, 32, has been charged with assault and is accused of slashing a 27-year-old man outside the East Broadway subway station in the Lower East Side Monday morning.

The victim was waling out the station when Marshall allegedly approached him and slashed him across the face.

The suspect fled the scene after the unprovoked attack, police said.

The victim was taken to New York-Presbyterian Hospital in stable condition, police said.

Marshall pleaded not guilty to charges and is being held in jail without bail.

An investigation remains ongoing.
