Man Shot In Arm Trying To Rob Off-Duty Cop At Penn Station

The suspect has been arrested and is now facing multiple charges, police said.

NEW YORK CITY — A 32-year-old man has been charged after he allegedly tried to rob an off-duty NYPD officer in Penn Station Wednesday night.

Jahmar Stewart has been charged with second-degree robbery and assault, police said.

The incident happened near a Long Island Rail Road platform inside the station around 7 p.m., police said.

The off-duty NYPD officer was with her husband near the platform when Stewart tried to rob them, police said.

The suspect was shot in the arm. He was taken to Bellevue Hospital, where he is listed in stable condition.
