Ms. DeMatteo is a driven teacher and holds herself to a standard of excellence to deliver the best teaching experience she can for all of her students. Time and again she goes above and beyond what is expected of teachers for her students. It is evidenced not only in her performance but also in former students who return to extol the benefits that Ms. DeMatteo offers her students, whether it be starting College applications processes for some or gearing other students for post secondary planning and career exploration. The students of Bronx Theater High School are largely from low income families and underserved communities and through her diligence, hard work, and community sourced fund raisers like donorschoose.org, she not only offers all of her students exceptional opportunities to excel, she sets an incredibly high bar of what a teacher should be. I am proud to know such a caring and amazing individual.

What's one thing you want everyone to know about the teacher?

Her dedication to her students is second to none. I would love if all students everywhere had a teacher as caring and knowledgable as Ms. DeMatteo.
