Teen Jumps Off Queensboro Bridge, Police Say

A teenage girl is in critical condition after she apparently jumped into the East River Thursday morning, police said.

NEW YORK CITY — A teen is in critical condition after apparently jumping off the Ed Koch Queensboro Bridge, police said.

The girl, who appears to be 16 or 17 years old, plunged into the East River Thursday about 8:10 a.m., NYPD officials said.

Rescuers pulled her from the water and medics rushed her to New York-Presbyterian/Weill Cornell Medical Center, police said.

FDNY officials said crews responded to a report of a cardiac or respiratory arrest, but had no further information.
