Teen Charged With Murder In Fatal Robbery Shooting: NYPD
The vicitim was found with the fatal gunshot in an eighth-floor hallway inside the building, police said.
NEW YORK CITY — A 16-year-old boy has been arrested and charged after he fatally shot a woman who tried to help her husband during an attempted robbery close to two weeks ago, police announced Friday.
The teen, who is facing murder, robbery, burglary and criminal possession of a weapon charges, is accused of killing Ying Zhu Liu, 57, on Sept. 9 around 11 p.m. inside 44 Market Street in the Lower East Side, police said.
Liu was found with the fatal gunshot in an eighth-floor hallway inside the building, police said.

The victim's husband told police that two unknown individuals followed him into his building and tried to rob him in the hallway.
Liu stepped outside of her apartment and was shot in the head, police said.

As of Friday morning, it is unclear if a second suspect has been apprehended or still at large.
