Teenage Worker Fatally Struck By Truck In East Village: NYPD

EAST VILLAGE, NY — A teenage worker was fatally struck by a cherry picker truck in the East Village Friday morning, police said.

The 19-year-old was directing a reversing cherry picker near 1st Avenue and 7th Street about 8:30 a.m. Friday, according to the NYPD.

The truck reversed into the teenager, who was pronounced dead on the scene with injuries to his head and body, police said.

The 42-year-old driver remained on the scene and police continued to investigate Friday.
