NEW YORK CITY — Three colleges in New York City are among the top 100 in the nation, according to a new ranking by U.S. News & World Report.
The city's trio of top-tier schools for the 2024 rankings likely won't be a surprise for New Yorkers.

Other prominent New York City schools fared well on the ranking, such as CUNY City College and Yeshiva University, which respectively tied for 105th on the list.
The New School and Pace University ranked 201st and 249th, respectively, according to the list.

But, despite still being highly ranked, some New York City schools saw their standings plummet from last year.
NYU, for example, was previously ranked 25th, while Yeshiva University fell from its perch at 67th last year.
This year, the company said it significantly altered the way it ranks colleges, placing a greater emphasis on social mobility and outcomes for graduates.
More than half of a college’s rank now looks at how well it enrolls and graduates students from all backgrounds, without over-burdening them with debt and leaving them with post-graduate success.
Additionally, the company no longer looks at five factors: class size, faculty with terminal degrees, alumni giving, high school class standing and the share of graduates who borrow federal loans.
"The significant changes in this year's methodology are part of the ongoing evolution to make sure our rankings capture what is most important for students as they compare colleges and select the school that is right for them," said Eric Gertler, executive chairman and CEO of U.S. News, in a statement.
