These Are The Noisiest Bars In NYC

NEW YORK, NY — It's no secret New York City loves to party. But the vibrant nightlife can be a headache for those just trying to catch a snooze above the bars that keep the scene alive. Now those sound-sensitive New Yorkers can see which spots to avoid thanks to Localize.city's new report on the city's noisiest bars and clubs.

The website ranked the raucous establishments based on the number of days in a year-long period that noise complaints were reported to 311. The report also includes the raw number of noise complaints that each spot generated.

It turns out the party's in South Brooklyn. The Velvet Rope Lounge, a Brighton Beach club boasting karaoke and hookah, is the noisiest in the city, racking up noise complaints on 93 days, Localize.city found.

The Velvet Rope ranks third in terms of total noise complaints with 121, just behind the Park Slope restaurant Woodland with 156 and the East Village cocktail lounge Louie and Chan with 293.

Brooklyn dominates the list with 12 hotspots — including four in Williamsburg alone — while Manhattan has eight. Rounding out the top five are the Upper West Side's West End Lounge, Bed-Stuy's Brooklyn Nights, the beloved Williamsburg meat market Union Pool, and Greenpoint's Saint Vitus Bar.
