Top Adams Official For Migrant Crisis Subpoenaed By Feds: Report

NEW YORK CITY — Federal authorities have subpoenaed another Adams official amid a probe into the administration.
Molly Schaeffer, director of Asylum-Seeker Operations, was issued the subpoenaed on Friday, according to an ABC News report.
It’s unclear whether the subpoena was related to any of the ongoing federal investigations into Adams’ campaign.

Schaeffer directed questions to the mayor's press office when reached by phone, according to the report.
“We expect all team members to fully comply with any ongoing inquiry,” the mayor's deputy mayor for communications, Fabien Levy, told ABC News.

Last week, NYPD Commissioner Edward Caban resigned amid a federal investigation into alleged corruption.
Caban's home was one of those raided by federal authorities on Sept. 4 along with other Adams officials, Patch previously reported.
The commissioner's phone was seized in the raid, as federal authorities investigate possible corruption.
In July, Adams received his own subpoena from federal prosecutors who were investigating his 2021 campaign.
