Trump’s Hush Money Case Sentencing Suspension Denied By Appeals Court
Judge Ellen Gesmer denied a request for an immediate order that would let Trump avoid sentencing.

NEW YORK CITY — A New York appeals court judge on Tuesday denied President-elect Donald Trump defense lawyer's attempt to get his Jan. 10 sentencing in the Stormy Daniel's hush money case to be vacated.
Judge Ellen Gesmer denied a request for an immediate order that would let Trump avoid sentencing.
Defense lawyer Todd Blanche argued that Trump couldn't be sentenced because, as president-elect, he enjoys the same immunity from criminal proceedings as a president.

Trump had been scheduled to be sentenced on Nov. 26 after he was convicted on 34 felony counts related to hush money payments made to adult film actress Stormy Daniels, Patch previously reported.
While Trump will be sentenced, Merchan disclosed he wouldn't order Trump to be jailed.
Trump can still ask other courts for an appeal ahead of the Friday sentencing.
