NEW YORK CITY — President-elect Donald Trump's defense lawyers are pushing for his Jan. 10 sentencing in the Stormy Daniel's hush money case to be vacated, according to a letter filed on Sunday.

“The Court should vacate the sentencing hearing scheduled for January 10, 2025, and suspend all further deadlines in the case until President Trump’s immunity appeals are fully and finally resolved,” Trump's attorneys wrote to Judge Juan Merchan.

In addition, his lawyers said he is entitled to an "automatic stay" and disclosed they would be appealing the decision of the case to the state Appellate Division, according to an NBC News report.
