UFOs Are Avoiding New York, Analysis Of Sightings Shows
New York is among the lowest in the nation for the number of sightings compared to the state's population.
NEW YORK CITY — If they're out there, they clearly don't want to come here.
The National UFO Reporting Center — a group dedicated to keeping track of unexplained sightings — reported almost twice as many strange objects seen in skies over the U.S.A. last year than in 2019. And that number shot up by 112% in just the first three months of 2020.
But the mysterious visitors are clearly avoiding New York.

With 310 reported sightings, the state is among the lowest in the country when compared to population, according to analysis of the UFO Reporting Center's data from January 2019 to June 2020 that was carried out by SatelliteInternet.
It works out as 1.59 sightings per 100,000 people. Only Louisiana and Texas had less.

The most sightings per population were in Idaho, with 9.18 per 100,000 people.
