Watch: NYPD Officer Rescues Dying Puppy in Heartwarming Video

It might be an NYPD PR stunt, but it's a cute one at that.

QUEENS, NEW YORK — NYPD Officer Joshua Sailor rescued Mila, an 8-month-old pit bull, from an abandoned building near Farmers Boulevard in Jamaica, Queens on Sept. 30, 2016. Sailor was never the same.

Mila, he said, was chained behind a fence with little room to move. She was emaciated and completely emotionally neglected. Once Mila was freed, she ran straight to Sailor, he said, and in that moment, he knew he'd have to adopt her.

He eventually did adopt Mila from the ASPCA, in what's exactly the happy ending we all need this holiday season.
