NEW YORK CITY — New Year's Day is fast approaching as New York City residents prepare to say goodbye to yet another year dominated by the coronavirus pandemic.

For many, 2023 will mercifully start on a Tuesday, since New Years Day is on Sunday and the holiday will be observed on Jan. 2.

That means there could be some disruption for those who like to file taxes on the first business day of the year (among other habits of highly effective people).
