What to eat: Steak. Butcher & Banker is true to its name – at this new Midtown restaurant, you can get a steak and eat it inside an old-time bank vault. The restaurant is located in the basement of the famous New Yorker hotel in the space that used to hold valuables for the Manufacturers Trust Company. A lot of the vault's original details were kept for its second life as a restaurant, the chef told WWD, including the round vault door and safety deposit boxes along the walls. The restaurant is open for dinner from 4:30 p.m. until 10:30 p.m. and for drinks until 2 a.m.

Tetsu

Location: 78 Leonard St., Tribeca

What to eat: Sushi. Tetsu is the latest restaurant from famed sushi chef Masayoshi "Masa" Takayama. The chef, affectionately known by his fans as just "Masa," is behind the stunningly expensive eponymous sushi restaurant in the Time Warner Center. Now, Masa is trying a more casual – and affordable – restaurant in Tetsu, his new Tribeca outpost. It offers a variety of dishes, including the chef's first ever burger.

King David Tacos

Location: Wall Street at Manhattan Park

What to eat: Breakfast tacos. King David's famous Austin-style breakfast tacos have a new food cart in town. The Wall Street food cart, which will be permanently located in its spot, will provide the chain's famous breakfast tacos for mornings when you're in a hurry. The taco chain previously opened a cart near Grand Army Plaza in Brooklyn.

Knightshift

Location: 667 Drigs Ave., Williamsburg

What to eat: Baked oysters. The Danish chef Mads Refslund is taking over the Williamsburg bakery Meyers Bageri three nights a week to launch his new pop-up restaurant, Knightshift. The temporary restaurant is only open Wednesdays through Fridays and will run through early 2018, according to the restaurant. The changing menu will feature seasonal options including baked oysters and sunflower risotto.
