Second NYC Scooter Shooter Hits Young Brothers, Ages 3 & 6: NYPD
A scooter-riding shooter fired into a crowd of hundreds in a Bronx park Tuesday night, hitting four people, police said.

NEW YORK CITY — Two brothers, ages 3 and 6, are among four shot by a scooter-riding assailant just days after another gunman on a scooter shot six people, one fatally, police said.
Two people on an illegal scooter opened fire in The Bronx's St. James Park about 6 p.m. Tuesday, when hundreds of people had gathered to enjoy a hot summer day, said NYPD Chief of Patrol John Chell.
The scooter's rear passenger hopped off the vehicle and opened fire into the park, Chell said.

Bullets struck the boys in their legs, Chell said. A 25-year-old man was shot in the back, while another man, 23, suffered multiple gunshots over his body, he said.
"I'm glad to report though that everyone is doing well and recovering from their injuries," Chell said Tuesday evening.

The shooting came just days after a gunman rode one across the city and fatally shot an 86-year-old man and wounded three others.
Beyond sharing a scooter and a hail of indiscriminate gunfire, the weekend spree and the Bronx park shooting appear unrelated.
Chell said the scooter driver and passenger were masked and clad in all black. They sped off along 193rd Street after the shooting, he said.
"Right now we don’t know who the intended target was," he said. "Nor do we have a motive."
