3-Vehicle Crash Closes Route 59 For Hours Saturday In Ramapo
The road, a main traffic artery through Rockland County, was closed for almost eight hours.

ROCKLAND COUNTY, NY — A three-car crash and its aftermath closed busy Route 59 in Ramapo for almost eight hours Saturday.
The crash happened at around 10 a.m. at the intersection of Route 59 and Airmont Road.
Due to the seriously injured victims, Route 59 just east of Airmont Road was closed in both directions for while the Ramapo Police Department's Crash Investigation Team conducted an investigation and the subsequent clean-up.

Commenters on the police department's Facebook post on the crash called it one of the worst intersections in the county, describing that section of Route 59 as plagued by heavy traffic, tricky turns and reckless drivers.
