30-Degree Temperature Swing Plus Rain: Hudson Valley Forecast
We could see some sun on Mother's Day.
HUDSON VALLEY, NY — A dramatic shift in the weather will hurtle us from shorts back to blankets in the next 48 hours.
The high Wednesday afternoon is expected to be in the low 80s.
"That's about 10 to 15 degrees above average for this time of year," Bill Potter of Hudson Valley Weather pointed out on Facebook. "Based on the weather pattern shift beginning on Thursday, we better enjoy the beautiful Wednesday while we can!"

Thursday afternoon's highs will only hover around 70, and by Friday afternoon high temperatures will be mired in the 50s. Saturday and Sunday are also expected to be cool, with temps in the 60s.
Moreover, rain and sporadic showers will persist off and on through the weekend.

"Rocketing temperatures this afternoon will create additional instability in the atmosphere ideal for pop up thunderstorms," said Bruce Furbeck of First Due Weather.
