52-Year-Old Admits To Raping 6-Year-Old Girl In Spring Valley

Ten years after the horrific sexual abuse, in early 2025, the child told a family member, who then reported the crime to police.

NEW CITY, NY — A Hudson Valley man has admitted to the disturbing sexual abuse of a small child in a Rockland County home.

Rockland County District Attorney Thomas E. Walsh, II announced on Tuesday that 52-year-old Juan Buezo Hernandez, of Airmont, pleaded guilty on July 3, to felony first-degree rape.

He will be sentenced to nine years in state prison with five years of post-release supervision, when he is scheduled to be sentenced on October 8. Buezo Hernandez will be required to register as a sex offender, and a Sex Offender Registration hearing will take place prior to his release from state prison.

According to the district attorney, during the summer of 2015, Buezo Hernandez engaged in vaginal sexual intercourse with a six-year-old girl, at a home in the Village of Spring Valley.

Ten years later, in early 2025, the child told a family member about the abuse. The family member then reported the crime to law enforcement.

The investigation was conducted by the Spring Valley Police Department with assistance from the Rockland County District Attorney's Office Special Victims Unit.
