
Orange & Rockland reported Sunday night that 942 customers in New City lost power after a fast moving storm knocked down trees and power lines. Clarkstown Police said the damage was in the area of Red Hill Road, Parker Road and West Clarkstown Road, which were closed to traffic.
O&R Spokesman Mike Donovan said the outages occurred just before 8 p.m. He said crews were on the scene shortly afterwards and were working to restore service. Donovan anticipated about 600 customers would have power back by 11 p.m. and the remainder of the outages would be restored 3 a.m. Monday.
June 3: O&R Spokesman Mike Donovan said all customers affected by the Sunday night outage had service restored by 5:15 a.m. Up to 1,670 customers were impacted during the evening as service was switched around. He said all but 160 customers had power back by 11 p.m.
