Alligator Rescued From Rockland County Creek By Haverstraw Police
The cold-blooded visitor is now warming up with the Hudson Valley Humane Society after a chilly adventure.

HAVERSTRAW, NY — The Hudson Valley is no place for an alligator, and the recent chilly temperatures have made our area even less hospitable for our cold-blooded denizens of the southern states. Fortunately, there were plenty of helping hands for the gator recently spotted in Rockland County.
Just after 11 a.m. on Thursday, Haverstraw police were at Minisceongo Creek in the area of Bridge Street in Garnerville for an unlikely reason. There was a report of an alligator in the creek.

Haverstraw police assisted in removing the alligator from the water. The Hudson Valley Humane Society of Pomona soon arrived to take possession of and care for the gator.

The Hudson Valley Humane Society said the alligator is currently warming up from the cold water (and we assume dreaming of warmer climates).
