The Clarkstown School Board will vote Monday night on appointing Daniel Goldberg as an assistant principal at Clarkstown North High School. Goldberg would begin on July 1 at a salary of $112,500 with his probation period ending June 30, 2016.
During the meeting, the Clarkstown Community Learning Center will present awards to the medal winners and high scorers of the Math Olympiad and WordMasters competitions. Board members will vote on a resolution supporting a measure introduced in the state legislature that would allow the district to receive its full state funding even though students will attend school 179 days instead of the state required 180 days. The bill introduced on May 8 directs the state education commissioner not to reduce the district’s aid. The school board voted earlier this month to make Friday, June 21 the final day of classes, reversing an earlier decision to extend the school year to June 24.
Donations from the Woodglen and Lakewood PTA organizations will be acknowledged at the 8 p.m. meeting. The Woodglen PTA is donating two SmartBoards valued at $2,500 and $3,251 for a projector, speakers and their classroom installation costs. The Lakewood PTA is donating five Nook HDt Tablets valued at $745 for the school library.
The board will discuss the annual increase in facility use fees and vote on scheduling its annual reorganization meeting for Wednesday, July 2.
