Board Reverses School Year Extension

The official end of the school year for Clarkstown students is back to Friday, June 21. The school board voted on Thursday to return to the original date, reversing its decision in March to extend the school year to Monday, June 24.

Teachers will have to be at the schools on Monday, June 24 and Tuesday, June 25 for Superintendent’s Conference Days.

The board’s decision was included in an end of the year schedule recently sent out by email. Clarkstown North and South high school students finish their final exams on Wednesday, June 19. South’s graduation takes place on Thursday, June 20 at 5:30 p.m. on campus. North’s graduation will be held on Friday, June 21 at 6 p.m. in the Rockland Community College Fieldhouse.

On Friday, June 21, school dismissals will be staggered. The Birchwood School, Congers, Laurel Plains, New City, Link and Strawtown elementary schools will be dismissed at 9:30 a.m. Bardonia, Lakewood, Little Tor, West Nyack and Woodglen elementary schools will be dismissed at 10:05 a.m. Felix Festa Middle School students will be dismissed at 12:15 p.m.
